Getting recommended by AI starts with being readable to it
Nobody can sell you a recommendation from ChatGPT, and anyone who says otherwise is guessing with your money. What can be fixed is whether an assistant can reach your site, read it and understand what you do.

This is the page where you may as well just run it:
Can you get your business recommended by ChatGPT?
Not reliably, and nobody can promise it. Which businesses an assistant names comes mostly from what the wider web says — reviews, forums, directories, press — which no single website controls. What you do control is whether AI search can reach your site, read it without running JavaScript, and find plainly stated facts about what you do and where.
Why your site never gets quoted
Three failures, all of them technical, all of them fixable in days rather than months.
The crawler never got in
A robots.txt rule written years ago, a firewall rule, or a bot-protection setting that blocks the crawlers these assistants use. The content is excellent and completely unavailable, and nothing in your analytics will tell you.
The content only exists after JavaScript runs
The page looks complete in a browser because the browser executed the app. A retrieval system that fetches the raw HTML gets a shell, a loading state, and nothing worth quoting.
Nothing on the site plainly says what you do
Clever headlines, no sentence stating the service, the area or the hours. A model answering "who does this near me" needs a fact to lift, and an unambiguous sentence beats a brand line every time.
What the work actually consists of
Unglamorous and largely invisible to visitors, which is why it is skipped — and why it is still available as an advantage.
robots.txt and bot rules checked per agent, including the search-specific ones people block by accident
The text that matters present in the served HTML, not assembled in the browser
What you do, who for, where and when — written to be lifted, not admired
Machine-readable facts that agree with the visible page
The question answered in the first two sentences, which is what gets extracted
Name, description and links that match everywhere they appear
A repeatable score, so a change can be shown to have moved something
Ordered by what it is worth, so the cheap wins come first
Measured, fixed, measured again
Score
The audit runs in about a minute and returns a readiness score with everything blocking you, ranked.
Unblock
Crawler access and rendering first. These are the failures that make everything else irrelevant.
Rewrite
Answer-first pages and plainly stated facts, so there is something worth quoting once you can be read.
Re-score
Run the audit again. The score is the same test, so the change is a number rather than an opinion.
The seven-day guarantee covers the website build. No part of this guarantees an assistant will name you — that is not a thing anyone can sell, and the page would be worth less if we pretended otherwise.
We sell the measurable half, and say so
This category is full of people selling "AI visibility" as though placement were a lever. It is not. Splitting the problem into what is controllable and what is not is the whole method, and the audit exists to measure the first part.
Reachable, readable, understandable is ours to fix. Whether a model recommends you is not, and no invoice should imply it is.
Same test before and after, so improvement is a number. A one-off report with no baseline cannot show you anything.
Search crawlers and training crawlers are different agents with different rules, and blocking one is not blocking the other.
It controls Gemini grounding, not Search ranking. Sites block it thinking it is an SEO setting and lose visibility they wanted.
Most of this work — crawlability, speed, clear structure — helps ordinary search too. Very little of it is speculative.
The audit is the product demo. Run it, keep the report, and do the fixes yourself if you would rather.
Results we can show you
These are from client work in other categories, and they’re the only numbers on this page:
Snowplow is the closest read for this work: the gains came from technical fixes rather than from publishing more.
How this should be judged
On the readiness score and on whether the specific blockers were removed — because those are the parts anyone can verify. Re-running the same audit after the work gives a before and after from an identical test, which is the only honest measurement available in this category today.
What it should not be judged on is whether an assistant names you this month. That depends mostly on signals outside your site, it varies between models and between askings, and treating it as a KPI would be selling you a coin toss with a report attached.
AI search questions we get on every call
Can you guarantee our business will be recommended by ChatGPT?
No, and nobody can. Which businesses an assistant names depends mostly on what the wider web says about them — reviews, forums, directories, press — which no single website controls, and the answer can differ between two askings of the same question. What is controllable is whether AI search can reach, read and understand your site, and that part is measurable.
What is GEO, and is it different from SEO?
GEO — generative engine optimization — aims to make a page usable as a source inside an answer that may show no links at all, where SEO aims to rank a page in a list of links. They overlap heavily, because both need a crawlable, fast, clearly-written site. GEO puts more weight on unambiguous facts and answer-first structure than on rankings.
Should we block AI crawlers?
It depends which one and what you want. The crawlers that power answers with citations are how you get quoted; blocking those removes you from the result. The ones used for training are a separate decision about your content, not about visibility. Blocking everything with one rule is the common mistake, because the agents are not interchangeable.
Does blocking Google-Extended affect our Google rankings?
No. Google-Extended controls whether your content can be used for Gemini grounding and model training; it is not a Search ranking switch. Sites block it believing it is an SEO setting and quietly remove themselves from a surface they wanted to be on. It is worth checking which one you have set.
Our site is a React app. Is that a problem?
It can be. If the content only exists after JavaScript executes, a retrieval system fetching raw HTML sees a shell. Some crawlers render and many do not, and you do not get to choose which one arrives. Server-rendering the text that matters removes the question entirely.
What does the free audit actually check?
Whether the crawlers used by the major assistants can reach the site, whether the content exists without JavaScript, whether the facts a model would need are plainly stated, and the technical conditions around that — then it returns a readiness score with the problems ranked by what they are worth. It runs in about a minute and the report opens on the page.
How is the score calculated?
From a fixed set of checks across weighted categories, with the same test applied every time so two runs are comparable. Some checks can cap the overall score when they are severe enough to make the rest moot — being unreachable, for instance. The report shows what was checked and what could not be verified rather than assuming a pass.
Is this worth doing if we are already doing SEO?
Most of it is work good SEO should already cover, and if yours does, the audit will say so and you will have spent a minute finding out. Where it tends to differ is in how content is structured for extraction and in the crawler rules, which are checked far less often than rankings.
How long does it take to see a difference?
The technical blockers are usually fixable in days, and re-running the audit shows the score move immediately because it is the same test. Whether that translates into being cited is slower, less predictable and outside anyone’s control — which is why the score is what we commit to.
How do we get started?
Run the audit. It is free, takes about a minute, needs no credit card and no call, and the report opens on this page. If the fixes are worth paying someone to do, book a strategy call. If they are not, keep the report and do them yourself.
